UV + TiO₂ technology

Water purification with light and photocatalysis

The ECO Purifier TiO₂/UV ICE15 combines filtration with titanium-dioxide photocatalysis activated by 254 nm UV-C light. Integration is defined according to water quality and project objectives.

The process

How the photocatalytic stage works

  1. 01

    Controlled input

Water enters at the flow and quality conditions defined for the system; pretreatment may be required.

  2. 02

    UV-C activation

254 nm UV-C light activates the titanium dioxide surface inside the reactor.

  3. 03

    Advanced oxidation

The reaction creates highly reactive species that act on microorganisms and certain compounds.

  4. 04

    Treated water

Performance is verified against the objective, operating conditions and applicable parameters.

Results depend on the water matrix, pretreatment, flow and operation. They cannot be automatically extrapolated from one test to another.

Responsible design

Technology is only as good as its application

Disinfection alone does not correct every water-quality issue. We review turbidity, solids, composition, demand, energy and operation before defining equipment and complementary stages.

  • Incoming-water characterization
  • Sizing based on flow and use
  • Planned verification and maintenance
